CLARK, NJ - Frank K. Hehnly School celebrated Earth Day virtually this year. Although the celebration was a bit different this year, the Hehnly Recycling Crusaders recognized the day in many ways.
Students and staff were invited to wear green and blue shirts in celebration of Earth Day. Then they were encouraged to participate in an outdoor, socially distanced activity like gardening or cleaning up their yard.
Nina Conner and Annemarie Estevez, the Recycling Crusaders Advisors and Hehnly teachers sent out a few fun supplementary activities for the students to take part in for the day too. There was an Earth Day scavenger hunt, two videos, and a link to a virtual visit to the NASA website to see an Earth Day Special.
Conner and Estevez were excited by the amount of participation throughout the day from Hehnly families. “We are both proud to be a part of Clark’s team and know that Hehnly teachers will continue to do everything to give the children as many typical experiences as possible under the circumstances.”
