CLARK, NJ - Students and their parents were invited to attend the Reading Committee's Reading Café at Valley Road School recently. The goal of the event is to provide a fun evening that promotes families reading together.

During this event, the school cafeteria is set up as a café.  Fifth grade students dress up like servers and show parents and grades K-4 students to their tables. The fifth graders serve a selection of books and snacks to their guests. The parents then read the books to their children.

Trish Peitz, Valley Road first grade teacher, and Lindsey Klimuc, VP of Marketing for the PTA, organize the event. Valley Road Principal Joe Beltramba stated, “It is great seeing special events with a focus on reading. The event was well-attended and enjoyed by all."
