CLARK, NJ - Tara Mulvihill, 5th grade student at Valley Road School, was awarded second place in both of the New Jersey Association for Gifted Children's Art and Writing Contests.  This year's contest was themed Giftedness: A Vision for 2020.

A ceremony was held at Moorestown Upper Elementary Shool on Saturday, January 25 as part of aREACH (Regional Enrichment for Children with High Abilities)

An awards ceremony where winners received their certificates and prizes was held at the REACH (Regional Enrichment Activities for Children with High Abilities) event, Keynote speaker, writer, and motivator, S.F. Hochman encouraged students to make the most of their talent and abilities by letting it RIP - Resist…Insist…Persist! Following the keynote, students participated in interactive, hands-on enrichment activities, focusing on higher-level creative thinking and team building.

Cindy Tarello, Gifted & Talented teacher in the Clark Public School District, entered her students work in the contest and shared her thoughts about the event and Mulvihill.  “This is one of my favorite contests to enter each year. I’m so proud of Tara and happy she was recognized for both her writing and artwork,” said Tarello.
