CLARK, NJ - Valley Road School students and staff celebrated diversity at their annual International Day-Diversity Fair.  This year, there were over 30 booths and 50 participants.  The event is organized by School Counselor Sarah Badillo.

Prior to the event students select a country to represent at the fair.  The day of the exhibition booths are set up around the gym so parents and community members can visit and learn facts about each country.

Many of the students dressed up in the clothing symbolic of the culture they are representing.  Some students brought in food and others participated in traditions like reciting a Greek story and providing visitors with a bindi.

“The students did an amazing job representing their countries.  The fair gave students a chance to learn more about their own background while also learning about cultures different from their own,” said Badillo.
