CLARK, NJ – Thanks to a local business in Clark, some third graders at Valley Road School know more about the Lunar New Year.   Representatives from Panda Express shared a presentation with students that included the history of the New Year and a story that explained the animals of the zodiac.

According to school officials, students learned about both the modern and more traditional practices related to the holiday such as red envelopes and the symbolism of various foods.

At the end of the presentation, the children received a chork, which is a combination of chopsticks and a fork.   School staff said the students had a better understanding of this important annual Asian celebration.
