CRANFORD, NJ – Emma’s Brick Oven in the heart of downtown Cranford is celebrating their one year anniversary under the management and ownership of Victor Biancamano and Andrew Galli.
“It’s been a great year; we have introduced new items to the menus, renovated the space and worked to create an amazing dining experience. It’s what we think of as Emma’s trifecta; great food, service and ambience that our customers love,” said Victor.
What’s not to love? Victor has taken the time to get to know his customers and launched a culinary vision to meet their needs while sprinkling in some elements of surprise, which has taken Emma’s way beyond just pizza.
Dinner at Emma’s starts with bread baked fresh in-house daily and served with their own distinct dipping oil. For appetizers Emma’s features more choices than you can select in one visit. Fried Bocconcini, Clams Oreganata, Shrimp Bruschetta and Mozzarella en Carozza are just a few of the offerings made to order and ready to sample and share.
The entrees are extensive and include some delicious takes on Chicken Rollatini in a Marsala Sauce, Shrimp Scampi made with diner’s choice of Sambuca or brandy and Grilled Pork Chops. There are house favorites too like Five Cheese Rice Balls, a Trio of Meatballs and lightly fried Brussel Sprouts with honey truffle oil.
Emma’s incorporates seasonal items into the menu and specials throughout the year. During a recent visit, Emma’s was offering a taste of autumn including Pumpkin Ravioli, a Harvest Salad and a Roasted Butternut Squash and Mascarpone Pizza.
Healthier dining options abound at Emma’s Brick Oven too. There is an extensive and creative selection of seasonal entrees, specials and salad options from Emma’s Healthy Kitchen. In addition Emma’s features weekly specials with organic, grass-fed healthy lifestyle choices.
Victor invited Sajal Hamilton, a local culinary expert with a formal education in nutrition to Emma’s to introduce innovative options to the menu that combine healthy and delicious in the same dish. Sajal brings her training in nutrition and experience as a culinary instructor, director and restaurateur to Emma’s.
Victor’s energy is a driving force behind the new look, new menu and new take on Emma’s. “We are not just brick oven, there is old school food here inspired by a world of differences, there are also plenty of today’s healthy options, we are not just pizza anymore,” said Victor.
When asked if he hopes to expand Emma’s one day, his vision is clear. “Anything is possible in the future but for now, we have no plans to open a second location. Andrew and I are focused on bringing our diners an amazing experience right here, right now,” said Victor.
Since no dinner is complete without dessert, expect a tableside visit from the wait staff with a tray filled with irresistible treats to tempt and delight. As though choosing a dessert isn’t hard enough, diners can add one of many kinds of chocolate covered pretzels to their dessert plate too.
