SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD/WESTFIELD 00 The annual Westfield Knights of Columbus Wine Tasting Event will be held on Friday, Oct. 4, 2019, from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m., at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 2400 North Ave., Scotch Plains.
The event benefits Knights of Columbus Charities, which helps provide disaster relief to those in need from Hurricane Dorian. Since the storm pounded the Bahamas and the Carolinas, the Knights of Columbus have coordinated relief efforts with the Archdiocese of Nassau and raised more than $620,000 through its Disaster Relief Fund.
The selected wines come from Shop Rite Liquors, as well as appetizers, desserts, and raffles can be enjoyed. Donations are $30, and tickets can be purchased at the door, or in advance. Contact email@example.com for more information.

Father Michael J. McGivney, assistant pastor of St. Mary’s Church in New Haven, Connecticut, chartered the Knights of Columbus as a fraternal benefit society in 1882. The Order is still true to its founding principles of charity, unity and fraternity.
The organization was formed to render financial aid to members and their families. Mutual aid and assistance are offered to sick, disabled and needy members and their families. Social and intellectual fellowship is promoted among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and public relief works.
