CLARK, NJ - The Clark Library recently received a donation of a new electronic sign installed outside the library. The double-sided illuminated sign will be used to promote events, reminders and other important library news to those walking, running or riding down Westfield Avenue.
According to Library Director Megan Kociolek the sign is the result of a grant from the Columbia Bank Foundation. Kociolek said some time ago the former manager at the Clark branch of the bank, Michele Murphy told her about the grant. Some time later the Friends of the Clark Library applied for it.
To Kociolek, the sign has an even greater significance now to the memory of Murphy who died in July before the installation was complete. “I feel in a way that we honored Michele by getting the sign,” said Kociolek.
To Kociolek, the donation represents the belief local businesses have in the library and the town. She is grateful for the gift. “The sign clearly shows where the library is, and we can share and highlight all the wonderful programs we offer,” said Kociolek.
The sign was formally dedicated on September 12.
