ATLANTIC CITY, NJ –Clark Recreation Director Ralph Bernardo was awarded the 2017-2018 Outstanding Achievement for Program Recreation Fall Brochure at the annual New Jersey Parks and Recreation Convention at Harrah's Waterfront Conference Center on Tuesday.

“I am proud to be honored among my peers, that means a lot to me,” said Bernardo about winning the award.

“Congratulations to Ralph on behalf of the council and me,” said Mayor Sal Bonaccorso.  “We want to congratulate Ralph on his accomplishments again this year.”

Bernardo has been leading the recreation department for 12 years and has expanded the classes and programs offered so there is something for everyone from toddlers to senior citizens.

According to Bonaccorso, Bernardo has grown it into a model for other towns.  “Ralph is the best Recreation Director in the state of New Jersey.   The programs he has put in place are better than anywhere else,“ said  Bonaccorso.   “People are talking about what Ralph does as though it’s some new innovation in recreation, they don’t seem to understand that he has been doing this great work in our community for years and every year he is in my office sharing ways he wants to make things even better.”

Bernardo echoes the sentiment when asked to compare Clark’s recreation program with others around the state.   “The variety of classes and programs that we offer are second to none.  I don’t know of another recreation program in the state that offers what Clark Recreation does,” said Bernardo.

“Ralph is great at his job, always wanting to do more for the children and adults of this town. He is just a great person, I’m fortunate to know him and call him a friend,” said Bonaccorso.

With the winter weather finally winding down, potholes are a frequent issue for drivers. The Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders would like you to know there are resources you can use to report them to the proper agency.

"We certainly encourage drivers and commuters to report any pothole they encounter on roads throughout Union County to the responsible authority," said ...

Politics IS Government in Union County

April 21, 2018

After Bruce Patrson of Garwood was stopped from speaking at the Union County freeholder meeting of March 22 regarding the politics behind refusing to give the party line to a sitting freeholder I thought this brazen suppression of free speech could not go unanswered. At the the April 19 meeting I answered with these comments.

After ten years of following government in Union County I conclude ...
