CLARK, NJ – The initial phases of construction of the future Clark Police Headquarters are underway.   Fences preventing both vehicular and pedestrian traffic from passing behind the current police station are in place.

Police Chief Pedro Matos offered apologies in advance for what he called "growing pains" that visitors to the library and police department will feel during construction.   He also advised motorist not to park behind the library.

New Police Headquarters Proposed by Clark Mayor and Business Administrator

“If you visit the library, please do not park in the back lot, we are reserving the back lot of the library for employees and police cars,” said Matos. “Please use the new front lot at the police station, we put a crosswalk there for pedestrians to cross from the police department to the library.”

Mayor Bonaccorso shared similar thoughts during Monday night’s Town Council meeting saying it is going to be tight sometimes.
