CLARK, NJ – A Clark Police Officer found himself in pursuit of a vehicle shortly after 1:00 a.m. on Sunday after being flagged down by a gas station attendant that had been robbed according to Clark Police Chief Pedro Matos. 

Matos said Officer Hernandez was passing the Exxon Station at the corner of Raritan Road and Central Avenue when the attendant signaled for help and soon reported they had been robbed at gun point by two men who were running across Central Avenue. 

Officer Hernandez located the suspects entering a vehicle and soon began chasing them as they fled the scene.   The suspects crashed their vehicle shortly after in the vicinity of St. George Avenue and W. Grand Avenue in Rahway.

Matos said the accident sent the occupants of the suspects' vehicle and several other civilians caught in the collision to the hospital.  He said one suspect and one victim had moderate injuries.

Clark Police took three people into custody, 2 adult males and 1 juvenile. Two guns and the property stolen from the Exxon were recovered by police.
