CLARK, NJ – Oakridge Road from Lake Avenue to Inman Avenue is closed in both directions while police coordinate a detour according to an alert put out by the Clark Police Department on Thursday afternoon.

The closure is due to a broken natural gas line at a construction site earlier in the day.  Clark Fire Chief Frank Cerasa said the fire department was dispatched to Oak Ridge Road near Locust Grove at shortly after 11:00 a.m.

According to Cerasa, when crews arrived on the scene, they found a two-inch main releasing gas after being torn up during construction. Elizabethtown Gas crews arrived on the scene to secure the leak.
