CLARK, NJ - During a medical emergency, people instinctively know to dial 911 for help. What they don’t think about is what it takes to keep the members of the Clark Volunteer Emergency Squad equipped and ready to serve the community.
George R. Olear, Trustee and Head of the Holiday Fund Drive Committee for the CVES chatted with TAPinto Clark recently about the organization’s Annual Holiday Fund Drive.
According to Olear, the CVES counts on donations from Clark residents, businesses and even the township to purchase medical equipment, ambulances, insurances and to cover other operating expenses.
Olear said the CVES responds to an average of 1500 calls for assistance every year and has been doing so free of charge to Clark residents since 1941.They also provide their services at ALJ football games, Relay for Life, The Valor Ride, The UNICO Italian Feast and many other local events throughout the year.
Letters requesting donations toward the annual donation drive were delivered to all the residents and businesses in Clark recently. According to the mailer, the CVES is a registered New Jersey Charity (ID#CH1606700). Donations of any amount can be made out to the Clark Volunteer Emergency Squad with “public purpose” in the memo section of the check to qualify as a tax-deductible donation. Mail donations to:
