VOORHEES, NJ – New Jersey American Water plans to replace roughly 1,200 feet of water main lines in Clark according to a notice released on May 16.

The document indicates the company is replacing main along Georgian Drive, from Ross Street to Sherwood Circle that was originally installed in the 1930s.  Two hydrants and 29 utility-owned service lines along the pipeline route will also be replaced.

NJAW representatives said the project will improve water service reliability and increase water flow for household consumption and fire defense.

With a cost of approximately $350,000, this project is part of a multimillion dollar program  for renewal of water infrastructure in more than 100 communities across the state.

NJAW’s contractor Montana Construction began work on the project last week and is expected to be completed by the end of September.

Residents can expect work to take place Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Work outside these hours would only be necessary to maintain project schedule. The final repair to the streets will be completed in the summer of 2018.

Traffic patterns may be altered in work zones to ensure citizen and worker safety.  Pedestrians are advised to be cautious in work areas.
