CLARK, NJ - The Clark Little League 11 year-olds captured a District 10 title last week. This week the 10 year-olds came away with a hard fought 9-5 victory over Sayrewood South LL Tuesday night in the District championship game at Middlesex LL.
The players Jon Breunig, Vincent Cilento, Hudson Couto, Noah Gibson, Thomas Kershaw, Jack Pellino, Andrew Quiroz, Brandon Raparelli, Manuel Rendiero, Sean Sullivan and Kyle Thompson, Coaches Craig Gibson and Rob Raparelli and Manager Sean Thompson, will now enter the 10 year-old NJ Section 3 tournament at North Howell Little League beginning Sunday.
The 2019 11 year-old NJ Section 3 tournament ongoing at Clark Little League and just wrapped up day two. District 10 champ Clark LL opened up Tuesday night with a dramatic come-from-behind 2-1 victory over District 11 champ North Wall. Tyler Thorn was locked up in a pitchers duel trailing 1-0 in the 5th inning. In the 5th inning, Dean Yellen smashed a triple to the wall and scored the tying run on a sacrifice fly. Clark pulled out a 2-1 victory in their final at bat in the bottom of the 6th. Brody Gulbin reached base and moved to second on a passed ball. Luke Laporta then crack a single and Gulbin scored as he jarred the ball loose on the slide and Clark went home winners.

Clark moved on to play a powerful District 12 champ Sunnybrae LL from Trenton on Wednesday night. Nicholas Donofrio pitched a gem, pitching 5 shutout innings. Clutch hitting by Jonah Bencivenga, Aidan Rogers and Devin Patterson, along with several great fielding plays by Miguel De La Cruz, Keegan Parkhill and Brody Gulbin, and Clark held on to a 5-2 victory. Clark LL will battle Brick LL tonight at 7:30.
Brick LL defeated Lincroft LL 13-3 Wednesday night. Lincroft LL will play North Wall LL at 5:30 tonight with the winner advancing and the loser being eliminated.
