CLARK, NJ - Brick Little League left no doubt at the end of the night who was the best of the best in Section 3 after they defeated South Wall Little League 17-1.
Brick and South Wall both entered the game on a 3 game winning streak in the tournament. Both teams had been hitting the ball at a torrid pace. Brick’s starting pitcher Brayden Heatter proved too overpowering. Brick built a big lead early in the game and just kept adding to it led by Jake Rizzo’s two home runs including a grand slam. Daniel Lubach sealed it with another long ball propelling Brick to the NJ State championship tournament in Livingston.
The Clark Little League 11 yr olds, who won the District 10 championship a week earlier, opened the Section 3 tournament with 2 strong wins against South Wall LL and Sunnybrae LL, 2-1 and 5-2. After a defeat to Brick LL, South Wall won the rematch against Clark to advance to the final.
District 10 and Clark Little League did a tremendous job hosting the first NJ Section tournament held in Clark.
