CORAL SPRINGS, FL – A Coral Springs nonprofit running weekly food distribution events for thousands of people is asking for donations to keep the events and other programs going.

Chabad of Coral Springs kicked off a fundraiser this week to raise $150,000 to continue purchasing food and paying for other costs associated with organizing the food drives that donate as much as 45,000 pounds of food on some afternoons for people in Coral Springs and surrounding cities.

The Jewish organization on North University Drive also runs other food and educational programs and will use donations to support those efforts as well, organizers said.
