CORAL SPRINGS, FL – If your trash and recycling haven’t been picked up regularly in recent weeks in Coral Springs, you’re not alone.
WastePro, which handles the city’s trash and recycling collection, said it’s experiencing temporary delays in pickup routes across the city.
Coral Springs officials said Wednesday that the delays are related to the company being down eight drivers, at the moment, who are recovering from Covid-19. It’s also the result of Hurricane Isaias passing through the region late last week.
“There are disruptions in service,” Coral Springs City Manager Frank Babinec said. “We have to be understanding.”
Babinec said his staff is working with WastePro to “ensure the highest level of service possible.”
“I ask that we practice some patience and understanding,” he said.
WastePro said in a news release that the company is monitoring its service and communicating issues with city officials.
“Our focus is to maintain the health, safety, and sanitation of our community,” the company said.
