CORAL SPRINGS, FL – An employee of the Publix store at Brookside Square in Coral Springs has tested positive for Covid-19, the store announced this week.

In an email sent to employees, the grocery chain said associates who worked directly with the infected employee at the store at 10701 Wiles Road have been notified and are undertaking self-quarantine measures at home.

Since the start of the pandemic, Publix stores in Coral Springs and across Florida have been reporting employees getting sick from the coronavirus.

The stores remained open through the emergency and, in the early days of the outbreak, many of their cashiers and other front-line workers were facing customers without masks, gloves or screens.

“We feel that transparency in this emerging public health situation is of utmost importance in order to ensure the health and safety of all Publix associates, your families and our customers,” the email said.

The statement continued: “The Publix family has worked through many challenging situations together in the past, and the current coronavirus will be no exception. We will continue to closely monitor this emergent situation, and keep you updated with the latest information. The safety of our associates, your families and our customers is our No. 1 priority.”
