CORAL SPRINGS, FL – This week, 200 Coral Springs students and their families got backpacks stuffed with school and coronavirus safety supplies, courtesy of the police department.

Typically, the backpack giveaway is part of the Summer Youth Program hosted by the police department.

But because of Covid-19, organizers held a drive-through event at Coral Springs Gymnasium on Wednesday, during which 113 backpacks were given to 44 families, according to a police news release.
