CORAL SPRINGS, FL – Florida Rep. Dan Daley announced Monday he tested positive for Covid-19.
On his social media, Daley, D-Coral Springs for District 97, said his symptoms are “moderate and manageable so far, and hopefully will stay that way.”
“While I am optimistic that this is an isolated case, I am sharing this information widely in case of any exposure late last week during our committee week in Tallahassee,” Daley wrote on Facebook.
Daley added that he has tested regularly for the virus and, as of last week, he had tested negative.
He wrote that he started developing symptoms on Sunday. He added he has taken a rapid test and is now awaiting the results from a PCR test.
“I plan to do everything I can to rest and recover as soon as possible in order to keep doing my job as your representative, but step one is sharing this information,” he wrote. “We know that this virus is highly contagious and even with Covid protocols in place, we are recommending testing for anybody who may have been even slightly exposed.”
He wrote that he plans to keep the public updated on his condition.
Before his election to the Florida House of Representatives, he served as a Coral Springs city commissioner and vice mayor.
