CORAL SPRINGS, FL – University Drive through Coral Springs should be looking a bit more snazzy these days – at least from a landscaping perspective.

Crews are finishing up a $300,000 renovation of median strips along University Drive from Southgate Boulevard to NW 28th Street.

Medians – ground covered with grass, trees, and other landscaping to separate two sides of a major road – are being refurbished to comply with state stands, city officials said.

Last year, Coral Springs hired city-based Landscape Service Professionals to replace trees and shrubs and add decorative pavers to the medians.

The work started in March and is expected to be completed by mid-June, according to the city’s website.

The total cost of the project is about $300,000, which includes $55,000 in design work, officials said at the time they approved the agreement. Read more about the medians project here.
