CORAL SPRINGS, FL – At his new bakery and coffee shop in Coral Springs, Runar Einarsrud explained the secret behind the taste of his pastries that had been baked hours ago but their sweet scent still hung in the air as if they were just out of the oven.
“It’s the dough. It’s from Denmark,” said the owner of Nordic Bakery & Coffee House at 11418 West Sample Road, which opened last Monday. “We get all our dough from there and we make it fresh here every day.”
It’s the second location of Nordic Bakery & Coffee House (the first one is in Hollywood), which offers 23 varieties of pastries and croissants.
Prepared by his staff of five, the original recipes go back to Einarsrud’s Scandinavian descendants including his father who was a baker.
“This is part of my heritage,” said Einarsrud, who lives with his wife, Pia, and children in Parkland. “This is what I love to do.”
