PARKLAND, FL- For weeks, groups of young adults have gathered at the end of Loxahatchee Road where it dead-ends in the Everglades.

On Friday night, Broward and Palm Beach sheriff's offices broke up a large gathering there, BSO Captain Chris Mulligan confirmed on Monday.

Deputies did not take any further action, he said.

Florida is under a stay-at-home order prohibiting social gatherings of more than 10 people.

He said the two departments “will continue to monitor the area and discourage residents from gathering in large numbers. Repeated violations of the Stay at Home Order can be addressed with more punitive enforcement actions; however, that has not been necessary up to this point."

No other information was available on the gathering.
