CORAL SPRINGS, FL – As a police officer drove through a 7-Eleven on Wiles Road in Coral Springs, the officer spotted a woman sitting in her car next to a pump, holding a clear, glass pipe and small baggie, a police report said.

A short time later, Laura Holliday was in handcuffs after police found in her car what they suspected to be xanax, heroin, and methamphetamine, the report said.

But they also found something else during the search on June 26: a gun stolen from West Palm Beach.

According to the report, Holliday, 35, of Pompano Beach, said she got the gun from a man named “Lyons” because she needed it for protection after being robbed of money as she saved up for an apartment.

Holliday, a convicted felon, told officers she “has a drug problem and want(s) help, so I can get my kids back.”

After police verified the drugs, Holliday turned herself in on July 2 and was arrested for possession of stolen property, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and possessions of heroin, methamphetamine, and xanax.
