CORAL SPRINGS, FL – A virtual job fair will be held next week to give people in Broward County a chance to find work, as the jobless rate skyrockets across the nation due to the impact of the coronavirus.

The fair, organized by CareerSource Broward, is offering job seekers a chance to find temporary or seasonal jobs on Tuesday from 9 am – 11 pm.

Virtual booths will be set up by companies and viewed by attendees for 14 hours. Employers will also be able to chat with those looking for work from their virtual booths.

The fair comes as a record 3.3 million people filed claims for unemployment in the U.S. last week, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. The figure is the highest ever reported, beating the previous record of 695,000 claims filed in a week in 1982.

There is no cost for employers to attend the fair, but space is limited.
