- Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Wednesday the easing of coronavirus restrictions across the state, but not in South Florida. In other parts of Florida, elective surgery can resume as well as sporting events without spectators, he said. Also permitted to reopen will be restaurants and retail stores, with 25 percent capacity inside.
