CORAL SPRINGS, FL – Former NFL players, as part of Super Bowl LIV festivities, delivered “Super Baskets of Hope” on Tuesday to young patients and their families at Salah Foundation Children’s Hospital at Broward Health Coral Springs.
Before coming to the hospital, the players, cheerleaders, volunteers, and members of Coral Springs Police Department packed toys, games, crafts, educational items, and other items for ill children into baskets at Parkland Golf and Country. For parents of the children, the group packed totes filled with items “to nourish them physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually,” hospital staff said.
The charity event was part of the nonprofit Basket of Hope, which has worked with NFL players and community organizations in delivering baskets to sick children and their parents in Super Bowl cities and participating hospitals across the nation.
Former NFL players participating in the event were Chris Baker and Laurent Robinson.
