CORAL SPRINGS, FL – Street sweeping services. New software licenses and maintenance. Mobile video surveillance trailers.

These were among the projects and expenses approved Wednesday by Coral Springs City Commission at a cost of about $362,000.

Here’s what commissioners approved during their May 20 public meeting:

- Renewing street sweeping services. The city’s street sweeping program requires some sections of roadways to be swept monthly, quarterly, and semiannually, resulting in 1,100 miles of roads swept annually. International Sweeping, Inc. will be paid about $50,000.

- Renewing contract to purchase various software licenses and software maintenance. CDW Government LLC of Vernon Hills, IL and SHI International Corporation of Somerset, NJ will be paid about $230,000.

- Purchasing two mobile video surveillance trailers for the police department. The trailers will be used to improve security at city events, parks, and other events in the region. Using a federal grant, Wireless CCTV, LLC of Garland, TX will be paid $82,664.
