CORAL SPRINGS, FL – National Weather Service issued Sunday afternoon a severe thunderstorm warning for parts of south Broward County with the potential for 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

Although Coral Springs wasn’t in the impacted area, Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department officials urged residents to monitor the weather before going outside.

They recommended checking the weather in their neighborhoods through weather stations located at five fire stations in the city.
