CORAL SPRINGS, FL – Police arrested a Coral Springs acupuncturist this week for allegedly improperly touching a teenage girl during a treatment, a police report said.

Sergio Garcia, of SAGA Coral Springs at 10718 Wiles Road, was charged with sexual battery on a person 12 to 18 by a person over 18, the report said.

As police conducted the investigation, the report said they learned about another alleged victim and are now working on the case.

The charge against Garcia, 45, came after a girl told her family that on April 24 Garcia touched her breasts and penetrated her vagina with his fingers during a treatment he called “tantric massage,” the report said. Garcia told the girl he had never done the treatment to other patients and he learned it during a weekend course, the report said.

The girl told police Garcia performed the treatment after she put in her in-take form that she wanted to quit smoking, and she had a “high sex drive” which inhibited her relationships. Her family members had gone to Garcia for acupuncture treatment for two years, the report said.

After the treatment, the girl told police that he “proceeded to kiss her on the forehead” and told her “what happens in here stays between them,” the report said.

When approached by police, Garcia told investigators he thought the girl gave him consent to touch her private areas, the report said. He said he was providing her treatment and therapy and did not intend on offending her or making her uncomfortable. He told police he “wants her soul to forgive him.”

He was booked at Broward County Jail this week.
