CORAL SPRINGS, FL – An elderly woman fought with a man trying to break into her Coral Springs home on Monday evening, police said.

She was not seriously injured during the home invasion at her home in the 8400 block of NW 27th Drive, police said. She did not need medical treatment.

Police said a man in his 20s knocked on the woman’s door at around 9 pm. When she opened the door, the man forced his way inside. After a struggle, the man fled on foot eastbound on NW 27th Street and was last seen heading toward Riverside Drive.

Police did not say if anything was taken from the woman's home or if she knew the man who attacked her. 

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the man who is described as a black male, medium-build, 5’7-5’9 in height, with dreadlocks and a goatee. He was last seen wearing a hooded sweatshirt and sweatpants.
