CORAL SPRINGS, FL – The alleged fight between the married couple started over money, and escalated into talk of a divorce.
And then, according to a Coral Springs police report, the husband, Jordan Deese, grabbed his wife and pulled out a gun, telling her: “If you want this to be over, I’ll end it right now.”
Police arrested Deese, a 36-year-old technician, for aggravated assault and battery during the March 11 incident in a Coral Springs apartment he shared with his wife, her daughter, and her mother.
His wife told police she and her husband exchanged text messages during the day of his arrest, and when she came home, he was enraged, grabbed her by her shirt, and then got her Glock 19 handgun and brought it to their kitchen, the report said. She said as he attempted to load the gun in front of her and her mother, they wrestled the gun away from him.
After the brief struggle, his wife told police her husband attempted to grab her by the neck, but she blocked him and ran into her daughter’s bedroom and locked the door while her mother briefly held Deese.
When police arrived, Deese told officers he verbally fought with his wife but denied getting out the gun. He said he was going to kill himself.
Police found no visible marks of a struggle on Deese, his wife or her mother. No one needed medical care, the report said.
The woman’s daughter told officers that she heard Deese say that he was going to harm himself.
The couple married in January, the report said.
