CORAL SPRINGS, FL – Over the weekend, a 22-year-old Coral Springs man allegedly hired a driver to take him all over South Florida, a police report said. At the end of the ride in Coral Springs, Lincoln Grant pulled out a knife, robbed the driver of $500, and ran off.

Police caught up to Grant as he hid in a waste storage area in the 11700 block of West Sample Road, just a block or so from where he is accused of robbing the driver outside a McDonald’s at 11655 West Sample Road on Saturday night, the report said.

Grant, of Coral Springs, was charged with robbery without a firearm. Police also discovered he had a warrant for a charge of a stolen credit card.

Before the robbery, the driver told police he took Grant to several stops in Broward and Miami-Dade counties and, when he was prepared to drop him off at the McDonald’s on West Sample Road, Grant took out a knife and demanded money.

The driver handed over the cash and Grant ran off. The driver called police and followed Grant until he jumped over a parking lot wall and disappeared.

Grant remained at Broward County Jail on Monday with no bond for the robbery and $1,000 bond for the warrant.
