CORAL SPRINGS, FL – Coral Springs police have arrested a 23-year-old man wanted for allegedly breaking into the home of an elderly woman last month and then running off when the woman fought back, police said.

Police announced Friday that Bailewa Davis of Coral Springs was taken into custody without incident.

He was charged with burglary theft. He was being held at Broward County Jail on a $25,000.

Davis allegedly knocked on the woman’s door at around 9 pm on April 27 in the 8400 block of NW 27th Drive, police said.

When she opened the door, he forced his way inside. After a struggle, he fled on foot eastbound on NW 27th Street and was last seen heading toward Riverside Drive. Read our story here about the incident.

The woman was not injured.
