CORAL SPRINGS, FL – Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of a 23-year-old man who allegedly broke into the Coral Springs home of an elderly woman last week and then ran off when the woman fought back, police said.

Police identified the man as Bailewa Davis of Coral Springs.

Davis allegedly knocked on the woman’s door at around 9 pm on Monday in the 8400 block of NW 27th Drive, police said. When she opened the door, he forced his way inside. After a struggle, he fled on foot eastbound on NW 27th Street and was last seen heading toward Riverside Drive. Read our story here about the incident.

The woman was not seriously injured and did not need medical treatment, police said.

It wasn’t clear on Sunday morning if police have yet to arrest Davis.

Police said Davis has often been seen on foot in Coral Springs and Margate.
