CRANFORD - Three incumbents and one newcomer are running for three open seats on the Cranford Board of Education in the November election, according to the Union County Clerk’s Office.

The deadline for candidates to file with the Union County Board of Elections was Monday. Board of Education President Kurt Petschow, Vice President Lisa A. Carbone, and school board member Kristen Mallon, whose terms will expire at the end of the year, are seeking reelection. Newcomer Francis N. Riccio III will seek to unseat one of the three.

None of the four candidates on the slate are running under a slogan, according to clerk’s office.
