CRANFORD - Walnut Avenue School (WAS) has announced that Annette Ritzer has been selected as the 2019-2020 Educator of the Year.

Mrs. Ritzer is a second grade teacher at Walnut Avenue School, and has been an educator for 32 years. She has made the learning environment in her second grade classroom one with high expectations, while providing a social-emotional focus to establish a learning environment that meets the needs of diverse learners.

"Mrs. Ritzer’s passion for teaching and love of children is truly apparent each and every day," said WAS Principal Celine McNally. "She is a valued member of the staff and has implemented various school-wide activities, including a multicultural day that celebrates both culture and traditions through food, doll design and research, and song and dance."
