WAYNE, NJ – The Cranford Boys Baseball team will advance to the Group 3 Final in Toms River after defeating Pasack Valley, 3-2, in an eight-inning game in yesterday’s NJSIAA Group 3 Semifinals at William Paterson University.

Senior Brian Oblachinski cinched the win with an RBI in the top of the eighth inning with two outs. It allowed third baseman Matthew Perino to score the game-winning run.

Michael Meola hit an RBI in the third that allowed Ryan Bakie to score. James Shriner also scored a run in the third with an RBI by Tom Armstrong, giving Cranford a 2-0 lead.

Pasack Valley caught up quickly, tying the game 2-2 until Oblachinski’s hit in the top of the eighth.

Kevin Donovan pitched six innings and allowed two runs on four hits. He struck out two. Vincent Genova pitched two innings.
