Charity Jewelry & Accessory Sale at Trinity Cranford - Nov. 19th 11:30 AM

Trinity Episcopal Church, 119 Forest Avenue, Cranford, is hosting a charity African jewelry and craft sale on Sunday November 19, 2012 at 11:30 AM in Sherlock Hall. Proceeds from the sale will go to Africa Team Ministries, a Christian ministry providing funds for orphan and refugee relief missions and evangelism in East Africa. “The worst drought in 60 years has caused a severe food crisis in Kenya and left more than 3 million Kenyans facing malnutrition and starvation,” said Reverend Andy Kruger, Trinity’s Priest-in-Charge. “The drought resulted in massive death of animals which are the community’s major source of income”, Father Andy continued. The sale will feature crafts, jewelry, and soapstone carvings from East Africa. “We invite everyone to come help this life-saving ministry,” said Father Andy. African Team Ministries was founded in 1984 by Bishop Festo Kivengere of Uganda, working as an intermediary between African and American churches to fund food, education, relief efforts, and clean water facilities in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda. Support is sent directly to the partnering Bishops in Africa. In response to the drought, African Team Ministries sent 250,000 meals to families in drought and famine areas and is providing pumps to help communities pump clean reliable water. NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - Rutgers University Board of Governors today approved a 2.3 percent hike in tuition and fees, as well as increases for dorm rooms and meals, for the 2018-2019 academic year.
