ELIZABETH, NJ - Approximately 700 cyclists of every skill level took to the streets for the 15th annual Tour de Elizabeth that rolled throughout the city on Sunday morning.
This year’s tour that is open to all ages, was a 15-mile recreational tour of the City of Elizabeth’s historic neighborhoods, beginning and ending at City Hall.
Members of the Elizabeth Police Department were on hand to escort cyclists on a route with rolling intersection closings and assist where needed.

Elizabeth is a destination City which boasts of great history, cuisine, and diversity. Groundwork Elizabeth and the City help to organize the Tour, assisted by the Elizabeth Destination Marketing Organization, the Bicycle Committee, and the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders are all working with the City to promote the theme and the Tour.
The event site hosted many vendors, nonprofit organizations and for the first time, it featured a Wellness Center on the plaza in front of City Hall, courtesy of the City of Elizabeth’s Health and Human Services Department.
