CRANFORD - Jersey City Police Detective Joseph Seals was killed Tuesday afternoon shortly before officials say the suspects, David Anderson and Francine Graham, attacked a kosher grocery store in Jersey City.

Detective Seals was identified as a 15-year police veteran, according to law enforcement officials, and a 39-year-old father of five who had joined the Jersey City Police Department in 2006. One of his daughters, 18-year old Hailey Seals, is a graduate of Cranford High School and manager of Giggles, an indoor activity center for children up to six years old located at 103 Miln Street in Cranford.

"She's one of my first employees and I can't say enough good things about her," said Giggles owner Kinga Keaveney to TAPinto Cranford. "It is so heartbreaking."

A collection of gift cards for Hailey has been organized by a Cranford Facebook group page, "Cranford, NJ Moms."

"There are fundraisers being started for the family and I would caution you to ensure they are legitimate," said Rebecca Morales Tantillo in a post to the Facebook page. "We would however like to show Hailey our town's support. Hailey is a college student who commutes and works in town. We thought it would be most appropriate to collect gift cards for her. We are asking for any gift card that you feel would be appropriate for a young college kid. (I was just made aware that Hailey does not drive so gas cards may not be the best idea)."
