Community Invited to Kiwanis Dinner

John Michael Jones, president of the recently formed Kiwanis Club of Greater Westfield, has issued an invitation to the public to an upcoming dinner on Thursday, June 9, to be held at Snuffy’s Pantagis in Scotch Plains.

“We are excited about our club that is the adult sponsor club of the Westfield High School Key Club,” Jones said. “The dinner is a relaxing, informal time for people to get to know us and what we are all about.”

The 6:30 p.m. dinner will feature speaker Deidre Gelline, president of the Westfield United Fund. The dinner will also introduce the community to Kiwanis Club that has a mission of changing the world, one child, one community at a time. Prospective members are admitted free of charge.

The club’s name, “Greater Westfield’’ is reflective of inclusion of anyone in the Union County area who wants to get involved with philanthropy for children. To RSVP to the dinner and find out more information about the local club, contact Mr. Jones at grayfd@gmail.com. The monthly meetings are held on Tuesday evenings at the Westfield Y from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
