Construction to Begin on Walnut Avenue on Wednesday Night

Update: he roadwork on Walnut Avenue between Raritan Road and South Avenue in Cranford has been suspended until Monday, October 9, according to the Cranford Police Department.

CRANFORD, NJ – Walnut Avenue will be closed for road work from South Avenue in Cranford to Valley Road in Clark starting Wednesday, Sept. 13.

To minimize impact, the work will be done from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following morning, weather permitting. The work will begin on the Clark side and is expected to last eight nights, according to the Cranford Police Department.

“The work being performed will consist of various road improvements, such as milling, paving, and striping of the road,” the message from the CPD reads.

A detour route will be posted. Access to homes in the work zone for deliveries and other services will be allowed as much as possible.
