CRANFORD, NJ – Cranford baseball scored six runs off of eight hits, to defeat Bayonne High-School, 6-1, Sunday at Memorial Field.

Sophomore Ryan Bakie had two hits, with two runs and two RBIs, while junior Joe Norton contributed two hits for two RBIs.

Also producing for the Cougars, senior Albert Gargiulo with a hit, a run and an RBI and junior Michael Smith with two hits and a stolen base.

The winning pitcher for Cranford was Chris Librera, who went six innings, gave up no runs on four hits, and was credited with five strikeouts.

The Cougars improve to 3-2-1 on the season.

Cranford baseball is in action again Tuesday, April 14, when they face Linden HS at Memorial Field.
