CRANFORD - 20 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and one new death have been reported in Cranford since November 12, according to the Township of Cranford. Currently, there are 50 active cases in town.
The 20 new positives bring Cranford's total to 648 since the first reported case on March 17. With one new fatality in the community, the total is now 99. Of the 99, 84 were residents living in one of Cranford's long-term care facilities, while 15 were residents living in the community.
"The spread and increase of confirmed cases continues, which leads us to stress the importance of following precautions even with family and friends," said Township of Cranford officials. "Governor Phil Murphy issued an Order that limits indoor gatherings to 10 people. Please follow this rule and celebrate in person only with your immediate family."
To protect the private medical information of these individuals, Cranford will not be releasing additional information about these cases. Residents are asked to respect the impacted residents right to privacy based on the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
