CRANFORD - 33 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and one new death has been reported in Cranford since April 7, according to the Township of Cranford. Currently, there are 67 active cases in town.

The 33 new positives bring Cranford's total to 1,411 since the first reported case on March 17, 2020. With one new fatality (long-term care facility), the total remains at 110. Of the 110, 85 were residents living in one of Cranford's long-term care facilities, while 25 were residents living in the community.

To protect the private medical information of these individuals, Cranford will not be releasing additional information about these cases. Residents are asked to respect the impacted residents right to privacy based on the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Testing and contact tracing remain critically important in slowing the spread. Cranford residents have convenient access to a mobile test site in Library parking lot.
