CRANFORD, NJ – The Cranford Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual Cruiser Nights will start Wednesday, May 10. The event is a night for classic cars to be displayed in downtown Cranford.
There is no charge to enter a car or attend the event. Cars that wish to be entered can be driven to Alden Street, where they will be parked and the owner can register his or her vehicle.
“We normally get between 70 and 100 cars,” CACC executive director Dottie Baniewicz said. “It’s a fun night.”
Attendees can vote for prizes for each car, including “Best in Show” and “People’s Choice.” About 10 cars are awarded, Baniewicz said.
“I always tell people to come to downtown Cranford, see the cars and get a delicious dinner at one of our restaurants,” Baniewicz said. “It brings people downtown and the restaurants like it.”
In addition to the car show, a DJ booth will broadcast music from outside Emma’s Brick Oven. There will also be a hula hoop contest, an exhibition by Satori Academy of Martial Arts and a demonstration by Sharon Fit Belly Dance Studio.
The Cruiser Nights will take place on May 10, June 14, June 14, July 12 and August 9 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on North Union Avenue and Alden Street.
