CRANFORD, NJ – Fourth-seeded Cranford girls soccer defeated the 13th-seeded Chatham, 2-1, in the First Round of the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 3 tournament, Monday in Cranford.

Maddie Hart and Anna Kalafatis netted a goal each for Cranford, while Siobhan McGovern and Julia Madsen contributed with an assist each. In goal, Cam Hay saved three.

The next round is tentatively set for Thursday, when Cranford faces the fifth-seeded Mendham at Memorial Field.
