Cranford High School Athletes of the Week - Jennifer Newport and Ryan Bakie

CRANFORD, NJ - Congratulations to this week’s athletes of the week, Jennifer Newport and Ryan Bakie. 

Newport, a junior on the varsity tennis team is a three-year varsity starter with a strong serve, who leads the team both on and off the courts.  

Bakie, a senior captain on the football had a 49-yard touchdown run and caught three for 90 yards with two touchdowns, in the Cougar’s  49-7 victory over Governor Livingston.

Bakie will continue his athletic career at Bryant College, where he has accepted a full athletic scholarship.
